The Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE International) defines Cost Engineering as: "the area of engineering practice where engineering judgment and experience are used in the application of scientific principles and techniques to problems of cost estimating, cost control, business planning and management science, profitability analysis, project management, and planning and scheduling."

About Cost Engineering

A Certified Cost Consultant (CCC) / Certified Cost Engineer (CCE) has met specific education and experience requirements, has passed the technical paper submittal, has agreed to adhere to a canon of ethics, and has passed an examination designed to objectively assess and measure cost management and cost engineering knowledge. A CCC/CCE must also satisfy continuing certification requirements or lose the certification.
